SUMMARY:
Drives dump truck, pick-up truck, forklift, tractor with attachments, and other small trucks within the plant yard and on roads in the local area. Operates truck to remove trash, haul waste, plow snow, transport apples or apple bins and perform other duties, as required. Loads and unloads truck. Inspects truck equipment and supplies, such as tires, brakes, oil and gas. Performs minor repairs and preventive maintenance. Holds valid driver’s license from their state of residence to drive required vehicles. Must be able to be personally bonded. Must be certified to drive over the road by 1) Passing a CSA physical administered by a designated physician; 2) Having a satisfactory drivers record via the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) background check; 3) Pass an over the road driving test administered by Knouse Foods.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.

1. Drives dump truck, flat bed truck, pick-up truck, forklift with and without dumper, tractor with attachments, manure spreader and other small trucks within the plant yard and on roads in the local area.
2. Inspects truck equipment and supplies, such as tires, lights, brakes, gas, oil, and water.
3. Performs minor repairs and preventive maintenance, such as changing tires, spark plugs, and installing light bulbs. Informs supervisor of needed repairs or safety issues.
4. Operates trucks to plow snow, remove trash and haul waste. Loads and unloads truck.
5. Performs lawn maintenance including mowing, and other duties.
6. Reports any Food Security issues to the Supervisor immediately.
7. Reports any Food Quality or Food Safety issues to the Supervisor immediately.
ADDITIONAL JOB DUTIES
· Changes meters on water lines.
· Assists mechanic or other personnel on process lines.
· Runs irrigation system.

Education/Knowledge/Experience:
High School degree not required.
Prior truck driving experience a plus.
Language Skills:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating, and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to complete required paperwork. Ability to communicate and understand simple English. Limited English required.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in or from standardized situations. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; and reach with hands and arms as related to the operation of a motor vehicle.
The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds when loading items, such as junk iron or water pumps, into vehicle. Specific vision abilities required by this job include hearing, close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus as related to the operation of a motor vehicle.
Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently works in outside weather conditions.
The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet.
