Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Statistician to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess strong quantitative skills and a passion for data analysis. The Plant Statistician prevents and resolves production problems by tracking yields, waste, and production related figures and numbers primarily with raw fruit processing equipment.
Key Responsibilities
- Reduces raw fruit waste by reviewing variances and comparing them against the standard.
- Ensures raw fruit quality by managing peeling equipment and associated vision systems.
- Resolves problems by collaborating with production , management, raw fruit, maintenance, quality control, and any other department accordingly.
- Ensures efficient machine use by creating and analyzing machine reports, logging times and physically examining machines.
- Contributes to the team effort by accomplishing related results as needed. Contributes to the company effort by continually looking for ways to improve raw fruit equipment productivity such as but not limited to apple peelers, vision systems, etc.
- Other duties as assigned by direct report.
Qualifications
- Requires knowledge that is acquired through a high school degree or its equivalent in experience.
- Experience working in a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to communicate in English and understand information one-on-one and in small groups with staff members, management, and mechanics.
- Ability to perform simple mathematics.
- Ability to work under pressure and multi-task.
- Ability to work with a wide variety of personalities and demographic backgrounds.
- Ability to prioritize and be detail oriented.
- Ability to maintain confidential information.
- Ability to work with a wide variety of problems, analyze results and recommend changes.
Physical Requirements
The work is primarily active requiring walking, standing, bending, and carrying of light items 90% of the day. Ability to travel between processing plants as required. Must hold a valid driver’s license and have reliable transportation.
