Rockwood Preparatory Academy is a K-5 Charter School serving a diverse student population in the Reynolds School District, located in the Rockwood community of Portland. Classroom Teacher Responsibilities:
● Curriculum: Implementing the approved curriculum. *Math, English Language Arts, and Spelling use a Direct Instruction curriculum to support the rapid learning and academic achievement of students.
● Cooperation: Working closely with other teachers, staff, and administrators to develop and refine teaching skills.
● Collaboration: Participating in productive discussions focused on sharing curriculum and instructional expertise including team planning meetings, professional development, and committees.
● Professional Development: Engaging in offered opportunities and exploring topics of professional interest.
● Professional Etiquette: Acting in a professional manner at all times, both in verbal and written communications while following established guidelines.
● Communication: Promoting communication between parents, community members and teammates, and working to establish and maintain the home-school relationship.
● Relationships: Foster positive and productive relationships with students, staff, families, and the community.
● Pedagogical Knowledge: Understands and applies expertise related to assessment, instruction, community building, student motivation, and appreciation for the cultural and individual differences that exist within the learning community.
Qualifications and Requirements:
● High energy and strong organizational skills
● Passion for teaching children
● Bachelor’s Degree or higher preferred
● Oregon Teaching License or Charter School Teacher Registration
● Proof of Employment Eligibility & successful completion of Criminal Background Check
● Experience using computers for teaching, word processing, & data entry
Salary : $38,069 - $73,357
