Essential Responsibilities:
- Lean Manufacturing Implementation:
- Set up and develop each workstation according to Lean Manufacturing principles to ensure optimal efficiency.
- Scrap Management:
- Quickly identify and resolve any issues related to scrap materials.
- Component and Equipment Oversight:
- Maintain an updated list of standard components for future secondary equipment.
- Keep track of plant press specifications.
- Ensure all new equipment meets or surpasses internal and government safety standards, and report any unsafe conditions immediately.
- Cost and Process Improvement:
- Collaborate with manufacturing and engineering teams to justify and achieve cost savings.
- Contribute innovative cost-saving ideas that exceed established goals.
- Process Workflow and Project Management:
- Support teams in developing process workflows, including documenting workflow diagrams and work cell layouts, particularly for projects involving post-mold equipment.
- Manage project budgets and control costs, ensuring projects are completed on time.
- Equipment Handling and Training:
- Oversee the receipt and setup of production equipment.
- Provide training to personnel on equipment operation and setup.
- Develop written instructions for the setup and operation of new equipment.
- Monitor and track the performance of equipment used in production.
Qualifications:
- Education and Experience:
- Associate degree or equivalent from a two-year college/technical school, plus five to seven years of related experience/training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience with Plastic Injection Molding and Automotive
- Technical Knowledge:
- Familiarity with standard quality practices and Lean Manufacturing concepts.
- Ability to read tooling prints, interpret various forms of instructions (written, oral, diagram, or schedule), and develop basic procedures and job instructions.
- Problem-Solving Skills:
- Proven ability to solve practical problems in situations with limited standardization.
- Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Background in the Automotive Industry.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
- Physical Requirements:
- Frequent walking and sitting, with occasional standing and manual tasks including using hands to feel, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Occasional lifting and moving of items up to 45 pounds, along with part inspection involving constant box handling, labeling, and detailed inspection work.
