Responsibilities
As the Senior Food Safety & Quality Assurance Manager, your focus will be on strengthening food safety programs, maintaining compliance, and improving operational processes to support ongoing business expansion.
- Manage and expand the USDA food safety and quality team, hiring and mentoring staff as the company scales.
- Ensure compliance with USDA, HACCP, SQF, and other regulatory food safety standards, maintaining necessary certifications and documentation.
- Develop and refine food safety and quality programs, leveraging data and technology to improve efficiency and compliance.
- Work closely with operations and distribution teams to integrate food safety procedures into daily workflows.
- Oversee training programs to ensure all employees understand and follow food safety protocols.
- Lead internal and external audits, working with regulatory agencies and third-party auditors to maintain compliance.
- Analyze food safety data and trends, implementing corrective actions to reduce risks and improve product integrity.
Requirements
- BS/BA in Food Science, Chemistry, Biology or a related science field preferred.
- 5 years of experience in food safety and quality assurance leadership, specifically in meat distribution, RTE or USDA-regulated environments.
- HACCP and PCQI certifications are required.
- Experience developing and improving food safety programs while effectively managing teams.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and drive continuous improvement.
Salary : $130,000 - $170,000
