About the Role
We're seeking an experienced Delivery Lead to serve as both a player and coach in our project management organization. In this role, you will directly manage complex, high-visibility projects while simultaneously leading and developing our team of project managers. This is an opportunity to shape how we deliver exceptional results while building a best-in-class project management function.
Key Responsibilities
Project Leadership (Player)
- Lead complex, high-priority projects from inception through successful delivery
- Develop comprehensive project plans, including resource allocation, timelines, and risk management
- Serve as the primary point of contact for key stakeholders and executive sponsors
- Effectively manage scope, budget, timelines, and quality to ensure project success
- Identify and mitigate risks before they impact project outcomes
- Create and deliver executive-level communications and presentations
Team Leadership (Coach)
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of project managers at various experience levels
- Establish and enforce project management best practices, methodologies, and tools
- Provide coaching and guidance to help team members navigate complex project challenges
- Conduct regular check-ins and performance evaluations to support professional growth
- Identify skill gaps and implement training and development initiatives
- Foster a collaborative environment focused on continuous improvement
Strategic Leadership
- Contribute to organizational strategy for project management excellence
- Develop standardized processes, templates, and tools to improve delivery efficiency
- Identify opportunities for cross-project synergies and resource optimization
- Collaborate with department leaders to align project priorities with business objectives
- Drive adoption of project management best practices across the organization
Qualifications
Required Experience
- 7 years of project management experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership role
- Proven track record managing complex, cross-functional projects with significant budgets
- Experience building and leading high-performing project management teams
- Strong understanding of various project management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, Hybrid)
- Bachelor's degree in business, technology, or related field
Preferred Experience
- PMP, PRINCE2, or other project management certification
- Experience in election technology or government software
- Background in software development projects
- Experience managing projects with regulatory or compliance requirements
