Bookkeeping, Accounting & Auditing Clerk
Daily Duties:
- Review assigned local agencies' annual budgets, line-item interchanges, budget modifications, voucher claims, vacancy reports, and time study submissions.
- Coordinate with fiscal management section to track submission and approval process for budget related tasks. Assist with completing fiscal portions of management evaluation documentation.
- Assist local agencies in the submission of Remedy Force help desk tickets including inclusion of the proper forms from the Women, Infants, and Children library.
- Assist local agency staff with technical issues they encounter in management information system and share locations of guidance for further reference.
- Respond to emails received in the shared mailbox and individual inbox.
- Maintain up to date knowledge of program policies and procedures.
- Respond to participant questions and complaints in a timely manner.
- Participate and contribute to program and team meetings.
- Complete mandatory annual trainings and professional development trainings relevant to current and potential work assignments.
- Maintains tracking systems to ensure local agency contract deliverables are documented and meet deadlines.
- Provide technical assistance to Women, Infants and Children local agency staff related to fiscal and administrative requirements and management information system.
- Complete miscellaneous projects, examples include but are not limited to: providing assistance to local agency staff with local agency site changes, moves, closures.
- Experience working in a fast-paced office setting, conducting a wide range of tasks to support program operations.
Desired Experience:
- Basic bookkeeping, accounting, and financial record keeping.
- Computing, classifying, and recording numerical data.
- Performing routine calculations, posting, and verification of financial data to maintain accounting records.
- Verifying the accuracy of figures, calculations, and postings of business transactions.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Software, including but not limited to, Outlook, Word, Teams and Excel.
- Previous experience working for a Federally-funded nutrition program, such as Women, Infants and Children.
- Experience working in a government setting.
- Familiarity with New York State systems and specific terminology.
