Title: Data Architect (Subject Matter Expert)

Location: Clarksburg, WV (remote work with occasional on-site travel required)

Job Overview: Lead the implementation of the organization's Data Mesh architecture, driving the transition to decentralized, domain-oriented data management to enhance data quality, accessibility, and interoperability across CJIS systems.

Required Experience:

• Minimum of eight (8) years of experience designing and implementing data architectures, including large-scale data environments such as data lakes, data warehouses, and data mesh frameworks
• Minimum of five (5) years of experience working with cloud-based data platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) for data storage, processing, and analytics
• Demonstrated two (2) years of experience leading and mentoring data engineering teams
• Experience with AWS services (S3, Redshift, Glue, Lake Formation, Lambda)
• Experience developing and maintaining ETL pipelines to support domain requirements
• Experience implementing data governance frameworks including data privacy, access controls, and lineage requirements
• Experience in data mesh architecture implementation and ongoing support

Key Skills:

• Advanced knowledge of data governance, cloud-based data infrastructure, and data mesh architecture
• AWS expertise, particularly with data services (S3, Redshift, Glue, Lake Formation, Lambda)
• Strong leadership and team management capabilities
• Ability to collaborate with domain experts and cross-functional teams
• Experience with SAFe Agile methodology and practices
• Proficiency with data catalog management and automation tools
• Knowledge of data privacy regulations and security requirements

Education:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Engineering, or related technical field
• Certifications in data management, cloud platforms, or data governance
