As a Market Development Physician at knownwell, you will play a critical role in establishing and expanding our new medical practice(s) within a specific market. This role combines clinical expertise with business acumen to drive marketing efforts, build strong referral networks, and ensure successful practice establishment and growth. The physician leader serves as both a clinical leader and a strategic partner, working to position the practice effectively in the medical community and attract patients. As an active member of the clinical practice, you will also work alongside a team of committed physicians, APCs, registered dietitians, registered nurses, registered pharmacist clinicians, and health coaches to provide comprehensive medical care, with a specific focus on the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of obesity and obesity-related conditions as appropriate in a primary care setting. Schedule : Monday-Friday with flexible scheduling
EMR : Athena
On-Call : Phone call only, in a rotation with initial triage by nurses.
Requirements :
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) required from an accredited medical school.
- You have an active, unrestricted license to practice in Georgia, or willingness to obtain. Willingness to obtain additional licensures if needed based upon business needs.
- Board certification in Family Practice or Internal Medicine.
- Certification with American Board of Obesity Medicine recommended, but not required.
- Valid DEA required with no restrictions and prescribing authority (per state practice regulation).
- BLS certification current.
- Minimum of two (2) years of in-person clinical experience in an ambulatory care setting, family or internal medicine; experience in chronic condition management and weight management preferred. If no formal training in weight management, willingness to participate in knownwell clinical education and training plan for weight management and / or pursue ABOM certification.
- Willing to supervise Advanced Practice Clinician(s) as deemed necessary and appropriate by the practice. Abide by state-specific rules and regulations as a collaborative physician.
- You ideally bring experience networking and promoting self and the practice through individual and group outreach campaigns.
- You have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- You’re dedicated to staying current with the latest developments in primary care and obesity medicine.
- You believe in inclusive, compassionate care.
- You believe in shared decision making with a patient. You honor the goals a patient has for their health, and you partner with them to help them achieve those goals.
- You have high emotional intelligence and know how to make a patient feel at ease – without judgment and without shame.
- You’re willing and excited to try new technologies that are both patient and provider oriented.
- You are excited to work with a collaborative team of physicians, APCs, registered dietitians, medical assistants, health coaches, and other staff.
- Must have access to high-speed internet and phone lines.
