What are the responsibilities and job description for the Temp-Letterpress Studio Mgr position at Knox College?
Knox College invites applications for the position of Manager of the Keiner Letterpress Studio.
This is a part-time, 10 hour per week temporary position for the nine months of the 2025-2026 academic year. The manager reports to and works under the regular supervision of the Director of the Creative Writing Program.
The Manager for the Keiner Studio is responsible for operations, management, and promotion of the letterpress facility in the Center for Fine Arts. The manager will learn the proper use of the letterpress equipment in order to oversee and facilitate its use for student projects. Under the daily supervision of the Director of the Program in Creative Writing, the manager supports activities connected to the letterpress in the Department of English, in particular, Prairie Moon Press' broadside series. The manager provides support to faculty who seek to incorporate the letterpress into new and existing courses. The manager is also expected to reach out to the campus community, solicit jobs from campus organizations, and otherwise promote the work that is done in the Keiner Studio.
Job qualifications: Bachelor's degree required.
The shop manager will be required to maintain the highest levels of safety, cleanliness, and organization, with respect to every facet of press operations.
Previous experience in any of the following will be of relevance: printmaking, design, publication, use/maintenance of simple machinery.
Ability to work and communicate successfully with a diverse academic community with respect for multiple perspectives and approaches.
