Vernon (Knox County), Ohio is seeking a highly collaborative, operationally talented, and innovative leader to join their senior leadership team as Chief Operating Officer (COO). Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Knox Community Hospital (KCH), this leader will have the opportunity to be a part of an outstanding senior leadership team to collaboratively develop and execute key strategies and lead operations of a continuously growing health system focused on high reliability and delivery of high quality, safe, accessible, and cost effective care to residents of Knox County and surrounding areas.

Knox Community Hospital is a 99-bed, Joint Commission-accredited hospital located approximately 40 miles northeast of Columbus, Ohio. Members of the KCH medical staff represent numerous specialties delivering clinically excellent care. Responsibilities
- Exercise leadership and management responsibilities to ensure efficient delivery of services that meet the needs of patients, medical staff, employees, and the community.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with multiple stakeholder groups including administration and management, board of trustees, medical staff, hospital staff, healthcare partners, patient customers, and community based on utmost integrity, mutual trust, appropriate transparency, and open communication.
- Contribute to the development of organizational strategic planning and participate significantly as a member of the senior administrative team to develop and align tactical and operational plans to achieve goals, objectives, and long-range vision.
- Work with colleagues to continually evaluate performance while assessing internal and external forces facing the organization analyzing trends that are, or may, affect KCH. Identify, evaluate, recommend, and implement approved strategies and tactics in response to identified needs, requirements, and opportunities.
- Assume accountability for cost-effective utilization of resources while working to promote safety, excellent clinical outcomes, improved patient customer satisfaction, and optimal deployment of human and financial resources. Serve as champion for systematic efforts to improve hospital throughput, patient access, and service delivery.
- Collaborate with KCH clinical leadership on development, implementation, and oversight of quality improvement, performance improvement, and patient safety programs enhancing access, safety, quality, patient experience, and organizational growth. Nurture a strong sense of team with clinical partners and promote initiatives that strengthen relationships between providers and support staff.
- Actively champion Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion goals and initiatives. Demonstrate true commitment to DEI providing leadership in systematic advance of DEI initiatives.
- Successfully oversee and lead strategic operational and facilities development projects.
- Work closely with CEO on organizational imperatives such as succession planning for KCH leadership and medical staff development.
