ELECTION OFFICIAL COORDINATOR
Purpose of Job
The purpose of this position is to coordinate and oversee the recruitment, training, and tracking of Knox County Election Officials.
Essential Functions
- Maintain the Commission’s database of current and former Election Officials
- Build and maintain databases for each election
- Confirm Election Officials’ acceptance of assignments via email, postcards, and phone calls
- Track workers added or dropped from assignments on a daily basis
- Design websites for Election Official class training attendance
- Design training class presentaions; assist with instruction in training sessions
- Develop performance criteria for registrars and grade performance post-elections
- Assist with recruitment of new workers
- Execute duties administered by individuals holding the position of Election Commission Deputy Clerk
Additional Job Functions
- Ensure regular, punctual attendance during scheduled work hours
- Respond to and report immediately if called upon by local regional or central office supervisors as part of a coordinated emergency response by the Knox County Health Department
- Perform other duties as required
Minimum Training & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree
- Four years’ related experience
- Must be 18 years or older
- Must possess and maintain valid Tennessee driver’s license

- Ability to execute duties of moderate complexity
- Ability to solve difficult problems
- Ability to communicate moderately complex information to Election Officials and the voting public
- Ability to occasionally direct the work of others and communicate with, persuade, or instruct others
- Ability to use typical office equipment such as multi-line phone, fax machine, and photocopier
- Ability to use computer equipment and the Microsoft program suite including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
