We are actively seeking a skilled LPN or Ma to contribute to our team at the Knox County Health Department in the Women’s Health Clinic.

Purpose of Job
The purpose of this classification is to provide basic patient care or treatments as well as certain administrative duties.
Essential Functions
· Prepare patients for medical treatments under direct supervision of clinical nurse program manager, nurses and nurse practitioners
· Take and record temperature, blood pressure, pulse, and respiration rate and prepare examination room
· Collect health information and accurately document in electronic health record system
· Administer vaccinations and other injections as needed
· Issue medications prescribed by provider
· Perform phlebotomy and specimen packing and transport
Minimum Training & Qualifications
· The position requires a vocational/technical school diploma from an accredited Medical Assistant (MA) program and one to three years’ related experience
· If the incumbent is an MA, must meet American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) requirements and maintain state and professional certification requirements, if the incumbent is an LPN, must engage in continuing education to meet state and professional licensing requirements and maintain an active license with the Tennessee Board of Nursing
· Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
