Overview & Schedule
The Knox County Correctional Facility includes a Food Service Department that provides healthy meals to incarcerated individuals in Knox County. The Per Diem Food Service Specialist prepares and serves meals for all inmates of the County Correctional Facility; prepares, seasons, and cooks a wide variety of meats, vegetables, soups, breakfast dishes, desserts and other food items, while following all federal, state and local food service standards for County Correctional Facilities.
This is a per diem position and is scheduled on an as needed basis.
Qualifications
Applicants must have a high school education or the equivalent, some cooking experience with institutional cooking experience preferred, and must complete the Food Safety and Sanitation Course within six months of date of hire.
Compensation
The starting hourly pay range is $18.39. The Per Diem Food Service Specialist position is eligible for an hourly differential, holiday overtime, and Earned Paid Leave.
