We are seeking a skilled and reliable Contractor / Maintenance Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the upkeep, repair, and maintenance of facilities, equipment, and systems. The role requires expertise in a variety of trade skills, including electrical, plumbing, carpentry, HVAC, and general building maintenance. The maintenance technician will be a key player in ensuring the property is safe, functional, and well-maintained.
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on equipment, appliances, and building systems (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, etc.).
- Conduct inspections of buildings and equipment to identify safety and maintenance concerns.
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests and work orders, prioritizing based on urgency.
- Maintain and repair plumbing systems, including replacing faucets, pipes, and toilets as needed.
- Troubleshoot electrical issues, such as faulty wiring, light fixtures, and circuit breakers.
- Perform general carpentry work, including building and repairing structures, cabinets, and furniture.
- Conduct preventative maintenance tasks, such as changing filters, lubricating systems, and checking for wear and tear.
- Work with vendors and contractors for specialized repairs and upgrades.
- Ensure compliance with safety codes and regulations.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed and inventory used.
- Assist in the setup, rearrangement, or removal of office furniture and equipment as needed.
- Adhere to all workplace safety protocols and guidelines.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a maintenance technician, contractor, or in a similar role.
- Proficient in the use of hand and power tools, and various maintenance equipment.
- Basic understanding of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and other mechanical systems.
- Ability to troubleshoot and repair a wide range of building systems and equipment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to lift heavy items and work in physically demanding conditions.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, or on-call shifts when needed.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Relevant trade certifications or licenses.
- Experience with HVAC, electrical systems, or plumbing.
- Familiarity with building management software and systems.
