About the Role: This role supports Applications Developers in the Information Services Department. Activities for this position include developing web applications and services using JavaScript libraries and frameworks including Ember.js and ArcGIS API for JavaScript. Tasks will include developing single-page applications with JavaScript and web services with Java to modernize existing systems. The successful candidate will learn how to interpret functional designs, work in a team development environment, and will code, test and deploy applications and services.
This is a summer only internship requiring 40 hours per week. There is possibility to continue past summer, if it aligns with organizational needs and student availability. If student extends time at KUB into the fall semester, the expectation is 15-29 hours per week.
Qualifications
Physical Requirements:
Sedentary work; exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or a negligible amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body.
Minimum Requirements
Must be and maintain full-time student status of an accredited college or university pursuing an Associates, Bachelors, or a graduate-level degree
Must have and maintain a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 2.5 or higher
Must be available to work a minimum of 15 hours per week, Monday through Friday, between 7:00AM – 5:00PM
Must have good oral and written communication skills
Must possess skills in MS Office applications, specifically Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
Must have and maintain a valid driver's license
Preferred Requirements
Pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Management, Technical Communications, Business Management, or related discipline
Maintain a cumulative GPA of 2.75 or higher
Desire to interact with people and provide great service
Strong work ethic with attention to detail
Experience with Object Oriented development (C , JAVA, or .Net) and/or JavaScript/HTML & CSS Design
Experience with Microsoft
At least one year remaining as student in degree or educational program
