About the Role: Responsible for water/wastewater engineering design, evaluation, cost analyses and modeling focusing on KUB new service installations for both small and large developments. Will be responsible for analyzing customers’ water/wastewater needs and conduct comprehensive analyses and evaluation to provide solutions in a timely manner. Will be responsible for preparing detailed drawings, calculations, and cost estimate using CAD and other specialized software. Will be responsible for managing permitting process related to KUB utilities, including municipalities permit review and approval, Plat review and approval, and TDEC approvals. This position collaborates closely with a team of engineers, new service representatives, KUB construction teams, external customers, and inspectors. Will be responsible for providing water/wastewater designs, analyses, and technical expertise to other KUB departments.
Qualifications
Physical Requirements:
Sedentary Work – Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, and/or a negligible amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time.
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Mechanical, or Engineering degree in another discipline, from a four-year ABET-accredited college or university
Working knowledge of computer- aided drafting programs such as AutoCAD
Strong interpersonal and communication skills to communicate plans, procedures, and objectives effectively
Ability to work independently on multiple projects and meet deadlines in a timely manner
Valid driver’s license
Preferred Requirements
3 years of experience in Water/Wastewater engineering design and modeling
Professional Engineer (PE) license in State of Tennessee or ability to obtain PE license in the State of Tennessee through comity
Proficient in AutoCAD, ArcGIS, and CIS
