Hours: Part-time, 15-20 hours per week

Position Overview:
As a Marketing Intern focused on the ReStore, you will be instrumental in promoting our diverse and ever-changing inventory. Your role involves creating engaging advertising content, utilizing social media platforms to showcase our items, and developing public relations strategies to increase community engagement and support. This internship is an opportunity to gain valuable experience in a dynamic retail environment while contributing to a noble cause.
Key Responsibilities:
- Advertising and Marketing:
- Develop creative advertising strategies to promote the unique offerings of the ReStore.
- Design and manage content for social media, particularly Facebook and Instagram, showcasing new and noteworthy items.
- Public Relations and Community Engagement:
- Engage with the local community through events and promotions to increase awareness and support for the ReStore.
- Build relationships with local media, influencers, and community organizations to enhance the ReStore's visibility and impact.
- Content Creation and Management:
- Produce compelling visual and written content for various platforms highlighting the ReStore's inventory and mission.
- Design and manage social media content that showcases new items, promotes the ReStore’s mission, and creates engaging, personality-driven posts to help it stand out from other thrift stores.
- Monitor and update social media posts to ensure information about available items is current and accurate.
- Event and Campaign Support:
- Assist in organizing in-store events or promotional campaigns to drive traffic and sales.
- Collaborate with staff and volunteers to ensure a cohesive and effective execution of marketing initiatives.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program with a focus on Advertising, Public Relations, Marketing, or a related field.
- Basic understanding of social media platforms (such as Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn) and an interest in learning about social media management and digital marketing strategies.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with an ability to create engaging content.
- Some photography experience is preferred, but not required.
- Creative and innovative thinker who is eager to learn and contribute ideas.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Passionate about community service and the mission of Knoxville Habitat for Humanity.
