Knoxville TVA Employees Credit Union is a not-for-profit, Member-owned, and locally operated financial institution serving the financial needs of its communities of Membership. We have 25 locations throughout East Tennessee and we serve more than 284,000 Members. The Credit Union helps Members grow financially by offering a variety of accounts including: checking, savings and investments. Also offered are competitive loan rates on new and used autos and recreational vehicles, mortgages, personal loans and credit cards.
Pay: Starting Range is $19.50 - $21.50 per hour, depending on work experience
Benefits
Process loan applications and verify accuracy for open-end and closed-end loans.
Gather and analyze financial, employment, asset, and liability information.
Determine accuracy of product and rate quoted by loan officer.
Obtain additional information as needed from members.
Provide member(s) with all required disclosures and documents for signature.
Request and evaluate real estate appraisal to ensure proper guidelines are followed and final value is properly determined.
Request flood certification to determine if property is or is not in a flood zone.
Order title work from attorney.
Obtain copy of current homeowner’s insurance and flood insurance, if applicable, and ensure mortgagee clause is in favor of Knoxville TVA Employees Credit Union.
Prepare mortgage loan application and documents for underwriter and closer.
Maintain daily pipeline report and determine accuracy of calendar of events.
Understand compliance requirements of mortgage lending per government regulations.
Maintain a thorough understanding of real estate title work.
Assist management in the training of new loan officers, loan processors, loan closers, implementation of new loan products and services in accordance with management direction.
Assist in resolving member complaints or errors on accounts.
Cross-sell other lending products and Credit Union services.
Follow all Credit Union policies, procedures and regulations.
Represent the Credit Union in a professional manner (including but not limited to appearance, behavior and performance).
Maintain regular and predictable attendance.
Work cooperatively with others.
All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education/Experience – High school diploma or general education degree (GED). Two or more years of real estate lending experience and clerical/administrative office experience and mortgage processing experience preferred. Knowledge of real estate processing and closing operations in all real estate markets. Any other equivalent combination of education, experience, and training that provides the knowledge, skills and abilities needed to perform the duties of this position.
Qualifications and Requirements – Individual must possess the knowledge, skills and ability required to execute the essential functions in a satisfactory manner.
Language – Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports and procedure manuals and use proper grammar, punctuation and spelling. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, members and the general public.
Mathematical – Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as interest and percentages. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, and ratios to practical situations.
Reasoning – Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written or oral form.
Computer – Ability to operate related computer applications including Word, Excel and email. Proficient typing skills. Ability to operate other business equipment including adding machine, coin, and money counting machines and telephone.
Certificates and Licenses – Must be eligible for or registered/licensed with the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS) as required by the TN Department of Financial Institutions.
