Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated Medical Laboratory Technician to join our team on a contract basis in Des Moines, IA. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing laboratory tests and procedures to assist in diagnosing, treating, and preventing diseases.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct routine and specialized laboratory tests on patient specimens.
- Analyze and interpret test results with accuracy and efficiency.
- Operate, calibrate, and maintain laboratory equipment.
- Ensure compliance with all safety and quality control standards.
- Document and report findings in accordance with laboratory protocols.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to support patient care.
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
Qualifications:
- Associate's degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or a related field.
- Certification as a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) by ASCP, AMT, or equivalent (preferred).
- Minimum of one year of experience in a clinical laboratory setting (preferred).
- Knowledge of laboratory safety procedures and quality control practices.
- Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
