Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Phlebotomist to join our team in Jackson, MI. The ideal candidate will have experience in blood collection techniques, excellent patient interaction skills, and a commitment to maintaining high standards of safety and accuracy.
Responsibilities:
- Perform venipunctures and capillary punctures to collect blood samples.
- Properly label and store blood specimens for laboratory testing.
- Verify patient identification and maintain accurate documentation.
- Prepare and maintain phlebotomy equipment and supplies.
- Follow infection control and safety protocols to ensure a sterile environment.
- Communicate effectively with patients to ease any concerns about the procedure.
- Process and transport specimens to the laboratory according to guidelines.
- Maintain compliance with all healthcare regulations and facility policies.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Certification as a Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) preferred.
- Minimum of 1 year of phlebotomy experience.
- Knowledge of proper blood collection techniques and safety procedures.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a healthcare team.
- Excellent communication and patient service skills.
