Job Description: We are seeking a dedicated and experienced ICU Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team in Kalamazoo, MI, on a contract basis. As an ICU RN, you will provide specialized care to critically ill patients, ensuring the highest standards of clinical excellence and patient safety. This role requires a compassionate professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is committed to delivering outstanding care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess, monitor, and provide care to critically ill patients in the ICU.
- Administer medications, treatments, and procedures in accordance with physician orders and established protocols.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Operate and monitor advanced medical equipment, including ventilators and cardiac monitors.
- Respond promptly to changes in patients’ conditions and initiate appropriate interventions.
- Document all patient care activities accurately and timely in the electronic medical record (EMR).
- Educate patients and families about the patient’s condition, treatment plan, and post-hospital care.
- Adhere to all hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications:
- Current and unencumbered RN license in the state of Michigan.
- Minimum of 2 years of ICU experience.
- BLS and ACLS certification (required).
- Proficient in the use of ICU-specific medical equipment and EMR systems.
- Strong critical thinking, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to handle high-stress situations with professionalism and composure.
