Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Burn Intensive Care Unit (BICU) Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team in Indianapolis, IN. This contract position is perfect for an experienced RN who thrives in a high-acuity environment and is dedicated to providing exceptional patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality nursing care to patients with burn injuries in a critical care setting.
- Monitor, assess, and manage patients' conditions, including vital signs, wound care, pain management, and medication administration.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Respond promptly to changes in patients' conditions and provide appropriate interventions.
- Educate patients and families on recovery processes, wound care, and discharge planning.
- Maintain accurate and thorough documentation in accordance with facility policies and regulatory standards.
- Uphold strict infection control protocols to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff.
Qualifications:
- Active and unencumbered RN license in the state of Indiana.
- Minimum of 2 years of critical care nursing experience, with burn care experience preferred.
- Current certifications in BLS and ACLS (required).
- Strong critical thinking, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with EMR systems is a plus.
