Job Description:We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Medical/Surgical Telemetry Registered Nurse (Med/Tele RN) to join our team in Kalamazoo, MI. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care, monitoring vital signs, and collaborating with healthcare professionals to ensure the best outcomes for patients with complex medical conditions. This is a contract position with night shifts and a 12x03 schedule.
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct patient care, including administering medications, treatments, and interventions as prescribed by physicians.
- Monitor and interpret patients' cardiac telemetry and other vital signs, promptly identifying and addressing abnormalities.
- Develop and implement individualized nursing care plans in collaboration with the healthcare team.
- Assess patients’ conditions and document findings accurately in patient records.
- Respond promptly to patient needs, concerns, and emergencies.
- Communicate effectively with physicians, patients, families, and other healthcare team members.
- Educate patients and families about treatment plans, medications, and post-hospital care.
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies, safety standards, and best practices.
Qualifications:
- Current and active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Michigan.
- Minimum of 2 years of recent experience in a Medical/Surgical or Telemetry unit.
- BLS and ACLS certifications (required).
- Proficiency in cardiac monitoring and telemetry equipment.
- Strong critical thinking, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-stress environment.
