Job Description:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Central Sterile Processing Technician to join our team in Syracuse, NY. The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring the cleanliness, decontamination, sterilization, and proper assembly of surgical instruments and medical equipment. This is a contract position for the evening shift.
Key Responsibilities:
- Clean, disinfect, sterilize, and assemble medical and surgical equipment
- Maintain a sterile and organized processing environment
- Operate and monitor sterilization equipment according to established procedures
- Ensure accurate documentation of sterilization processes
- Adhere to infection control and safety standards at all times
- Work collaboratively with surgical teams and other departments to ensure timely equipment availability
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Certification as a Sterile Processing Technician (CRCST or CBSPD) preferred or required depending on facility
- Previous experience in a hospital or surgical setting is preferred
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow protocols
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
