Job Overview:
We’re looking for a detail-oriented Certified Sterile Processing Technician to join our team on an evening shift contract basis in Detroit, MI. In this critical role, you'll ensure that surgical instruments and medical equipment are properly decontaminated, sterilized, and ready for use, helping support safe and effective patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Clean, inspect, assemble, and sterilize surgical instruments according to strict protocols.
- Operate sterilization equipment including autoclaves, ultrasonic cleaners, and washer-disinfectors.
- Label, store, and manage inventory of sterile supplies.
- Conduct quality checks on all instruments to ensure functionality and cleanliness.
- Adhere to infection control standards, hospital policies, and regulatory guidelines.
- Collaborate with surgical and nursing teams to meet instrument and supply needs.
- Maintain accurate documentation of sterilization cycles and equipment maintenance.
- Promptly report equipment malfunctions or process inconsistencies.
Qualifications:
- Certification from CBSPD or IAHCSMM required.
- Previous experience in a hospital or surgical environment preferred.
- Strong knowledge of sterilization methods, infection control, and instrument identification.
- High attention to detail with solid organizational skills.
- Must be available for evening shifts.
Job Type: Contract
Pay: Up to $30.00 per hour
