Knudtsen Chevrolet is seeking a Parts Associate to join the Knudtsen family. Knudtsen is a family-owned and operated company that provides the community with new and used cars, a full-service body shop and service department,as well as Genuine GM Parts. At Knudtsen,we strive to be a team and truly value our relationships with each other, our customers, and the community.
Work Schedule will be: Tuesday- Saturday 8-5 with an hour of unpaid lunch

Responsibilities
The Parts Counter Associate is responsible for assisting both internal and external customers in obtaining proper parts. The Parts Associate is an essential member of the Parts Department and will have daily contact with internal and external customers in person, via email and over the phone. The Parts Associate is expected to provide top quality customer service.

Assist all customers in selecting their needed parts in a friendly, professional, and efficient manner.

Ensures successful notification and delivery of parts to internal and external customers.

Answer and solicit assigned phone calls, providing price quotes and other information.

Receive and put stock order away.

Pulls orders for delivery, making sure all parts are tagged with customer names and job number.

Complete a daily inventory of all parts and replenish if needed.

Notify parts manager of out-of-stock parts or materials that need immediate attention, and locate the out-of-stock parts from outside sources and submit orders.

Makes sure all requests for parts are billed correctly.

Receives payment from retail customers.

Keeps organized and complete records of all repair orders, invoices, insurance estimates, and special order parts.

Maintains cleanliness of counter areas.

Keeps current on the new products and product updates.

Qualifications

A team player focused on providing exemplary customer service.
- Parts or automotive experience required.

Capability to maintain a professional appearance.

Experience in auto-parts sales or working mechanical knowledge is a plus.

Basic computer and mechanical skills.

Able to lift up to fifty (50) lbs and stand for thirty plus (30 ) minutes at a time.

Have a valid driver's license.

Pass a motor vehicle report and possess a safe driving record.
-
Pass a criminal background check and drug test. Also subject to random drug testing at the company's request.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS and WORKING ENVIRONMENT

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to: work standing up, walk, use hands and fingers to operate tools and equipment, speak and listen (both over the phone and in person to customers and fellow employees). The employee frequently is required to: reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch and crawl. The employee is occasionally required to: work in a seated position, climb or balance and smell. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 20 - 70 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move more than 70 pounds. Lifting may last for 30 or more minutes at a time. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Team Members regularly works 40 hours per week. While performing the duties of this job, the Team Member may be exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles and chemicals. Frequently (not limited to) working in the Parts Department, which includes computer work, customer service, phone calls, and inventory duties and cleaning. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, outside weather conditions and combustibles. May be a fast paced working environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
