Position Overview:
The Senior Sales Executive – Federal Accounts will be responsible for identifying, pursuing, and closing sales opportunities within federal agencies. This individual will drive the growth of KNZ Solutions’ federal sector portfolio by developing deep relationships with key government stakeholders, navigating complex procurement processes, and delivering technology and consulting services that address critical government needs. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of federal sales, government contracting vehicles, and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute a strategic sales plan to target and acquire federal government clients, focusing on large-scale contracts.
- Identify and qualify new business opportunities within federal agencies, managing the entire sales cycle from prospecting to contract negotiation and close.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with senior federal government officials, procurement officers, and key decision-makers to secure long-term contracts.
- Navigate complex government procurement processes, including RFIs, RFPs, and other federal acquisition strategies.
- Stay current on government regulations, budget cycles, and policies that impact federal contracting and procurement.
- Collaborate with internal teams, including marketing, project management, and client services, to ensure the development of customized solutions that meet government requirements.
- Actively participate in the preparation of bids, proposals, and other required documentation for government contracts.
- Leverage existing federal contracting vehicles, such as GSA schedules, IDIQ contracts, and GWACs, to streamline sales processes.
- Provide insights into emerging trends within the federal sector, aligning KNZ Solutions’ offerings with government needs.
- Report regularly to the Director of Sales on sales performance, pipeline development, and key account strategies.
- Ensure compliance with all government regulations and standards throughout the sales process.
- Mentor and guide junior sales team members in the federal sales process and contracting strategies.
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Sales, Government Relations, or a related field; an advanced degree is a plus.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in federal sales, with a proven track record of closing large, complex contracts within the federal government.
- Extensive knowledge of federal acquisition processes, government contracting vehicles, and compliance regulations.
- Strong network of relationships with key federal agency decision-makers and procurement officers.
- Experience with federal sales cycles, including responding to RFIs, RFPs, and negotiating complex government contracts.
- Familiarity with GSA schedules, IDIQ contracts, and other federal procurement mechanisms.
- Excellent negotiation, leadership, and communication skills, with the ability to influence high-level government stakeholders.
- Proficiency in CRM platforms (e.g., Salesforce) and sales performance tracking tools.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, results-driven environment with a strong focus on accountability and achieving targets.
- Previous experience working in or with federal agencies such as the Department of Defense (DoD), Department of Homeland Security (DHS), or other civilian agencies.
- Knowledge of government security requirements, including CMMC, FedRAMP, and other federal compliance standards.
- Understanding of federal CRMs (GovWin etc.) technology trends, including cloud computing, cybersecurity, and digital transformation initiatives.
