To provide leadership, guidance, and counsel to Kobayashis Leadership and Management team for United States operations on policies, employee relations, benefits, compliance issues such as EEO, safety and health, workers compensation, recruiting and staffing, HR record keeping, and legal compliance.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Develops and administers various human resources programs, plans and procedures for all company personnel.
- Investigates employee complaints, assists with counseling, and recommends action on employee relations matters.
- Assists executive leadership, managers and supervision on approval of terminations, and ensures proper documentation exists prior to termination.
- Keeps abreast of legislation affecting human resources and monitors company policies to ensure compliance.
- Update and maintain Employee Handbook policies and procedures.
- Guides management in researching, developing, writing, and updating policies, procedures, methods and guidelines for expressing and communicating company values.
- Develops and administers the compensation program to include job descriptions, job analysis, compensation surveys and monitors performance evaluation program.
- Develops and administers benefit programs for the company and its employees.
- Oversees HR recordkeeping to ensure secure, confidential, personnel records and retention of records.
- Manages HR support staff to ensure excellent customer service is provided.
- Provides recruiting and staffing support as needed by different business units.
- Enhances department and organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests, and exploring opportunities to add value to the organization.
- Provide support and leadership for safety programs of the company.
- Provide HR reports as needed by leadership.
- Oversees the training and record keeping for Current Good Manufacturing Practices, Standard Operating Procedures and OSHA business relevant topics.
- Responsible for company training initiatives.
- Provide training and educational opportunities to promote the growth of subordinates.
Preferred Qualifications
- A bachelors degree in business administration or related experience preferred or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in human resources with increasing responsibilities.
- Multi-facility experience is highly desirable including corporate, office, and manufacturing.
- Thorough knowledge of laws affecting human resources, safety, benefits etc.
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communications skills along with the ability to deal effectively with a diverse workforce.
- Excellent coaching skills for complex, difficult, and sometimes emotional issues.
- Good computer skills and the ability to use HRIS and Microsoft Office Hardware.
- Valid Drivers License
- Ability to travel as needed.
