What are the responsibilities and job description for the EP Operator position at Kobe Aluminum Automotive Products?
Purpose:
E&P Operators are responsible for manufacturing and inspection of mechanical forging products according to the quality customer specifications E&P Operators should report the details, measurements and improved results of nonconforming materials to leadership. All KAAP SOP's and Work Instructions shall be followed at all time; if situation does not allow for this the ""Stop, Call, Wait"" method shall be followed as implemented. Follow directives given by Shift Leader, Foreman, Supervisor, and Managers. Uphold the KAAP Core Values and Safety/Quality targets.
General Duties:
- Abide by basic Quality and Safety standards/procedures within work area at all times, to include donning proper PPE.
- Responsible for ensuring all products loaded are on the appropriate hanger and in proper location as directed in the loaders SOP for E&P.
- Ensure any Safety or Quality defects/concerns are reported to Supervisor in timely manner
- Identifying and reporting of mechanical/production materials in need of repair and/or investigation
- Reporting and/or recording of quality data as applicable for work area.
- While following safety and quality standards meet cycle times for process for maximum production efficiency
- Assist with improvement/refinement ideas for work area.
- Meet all KAAP performance goals/requirements for work area.
Skills:
- Inspection of product defects prior to packaging
- Loading products according to schedule provided
- Maintain all production requirements for products
- Maintain respectable positive attitude towards co-workers and superiors
- Promotes and maintains, safe and healthy working conditions for all employees in accordance with regulatory requirements and Company standards, reporting any violation thereof
- Follow designated priorities in order to maintain schedule completion as directed
- Maintain production reports and checks within work area requirements
- Maintain good working relationships with fellow operators, quality control and inspection personnel, in order to ensure a continuous flow of required productivity throughout the plant
- Packaging of products as specified by quality documents
- Follow all SOP's without deviation
- Other duties as assigned by the Supervisor
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write information on production and quality reports
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
