CNC Technician

Job Title: CNC Technician

Classification: Hourly

Department: Tooling

Reports To: Tooling Supervisor

Position: Day Shift

Purpose:

Produces machined parts by programming, setting up, and operating a computer numerical control (CNC) machine; maintaining quality and safety standards; keeping records; maintaining equipment and supplies.

General Duties:

• Verify integrity of data through the confirmation of sign offs on process documentation
• Maintain sanctity of the work space through the enforcement of 5s principals
• Documents actions by completing production and quality logs
• Maintains safe operations by following safety procedures and regulations
• Sets-up mills and lathes by installing tools, attachments, collets, stops, vices, etc
• Maintains specifications by observing cutting, taking measurements, detecting malfunctions, troubleshooting processes, adjusting and reprogramming software
• Maintains equipment by completing preventative maintenance requirements (PM), troubleshooting minor maintenance issues, and calling for repairs
• Accomplishes departmental goals by taking ownership of the machining process
  
  

Skills:

• Required Education & Experience:
• Associate’s Degree in machining or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience
• High School Diploma or GED
  
  

• Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
• Ability to perform all assigned tasks, work independently, and complete work on schedule
• Follow Supervisors/Foreman direction while displaying cooperative and positive behavior with co-workers
• Ability to develop and execute a detailed daily plan
• Strong Problems solving skills and efficient management of time and resources

Preferred:

• Prior experience in metals manufacturing environment
• (3-5) Years past experience in machining or related field
• Previous CNC experience (operation/programming)
  
  

Physical Requirements:

• Sit/Stand/Walk 8 hrs./day
• Ability to lift 75 lbs
