What are the responsibilities and job description for the Tool Crib Buyer Supervisor position at Kobelco?
SUMMARY:
Responsible for similar responsibilities as the Tool Crib Buyer Supervisor position, but with additional responsibilities for vendor and contract management together with continuous improvement and budgeting activities. Some work leadership responsibilities exist when other Buyer positions are present in the organization.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Requires constant physical activity throughout shift (except breaks and lunch) such as walking, sitting, standing, bending, stopping, squatting, reaching, handling, near/far vision, pushing, pulling, carrying, and lifting objects weighing 50 lbs.
Negotiates price, deliveries and contracts and maintains records of bids and contracts.
Performs vendor and contractor selection based on capabilities and develops alternate sources while evaluating their performance based on the company’s needs.
Works with other departments to track usage patterns and works to improve processes.
Maintains vendor database include entering new vendors.
Monitors department budgets versus spending and offers advice, updates, and reports to all departments.
Responsible for service agreement creation and management and partnering with accounting to ensure proper contract terms, costs, and PO alignment.
Drive continuous improvement in material costs by identifying, prioritizing, and driving cost saving opportunities while tracking with other KPIs for periodic reporting in management meetings.
Ensure that Purchasing SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) are up to current practice and notify Document Control when new procedures are implemented.
Assist in preparing Requests for Quotation as needed.
Solve problems with complex orders in an efficient and timely manner.
Update inventory and ensure that stock levels are kept at appropriate levels.
Manage facility services such as food/drink vending, guard service, lawn service, cleaning, and uniform services.
