KOBO Advanced Fishing Tackle is seeking an Operations Engineer to support and improve our production in Houston, Texas. This role is ideal for a proactive, detail-oriented engineer with a strong background in process, documentation, quality control, assembly oversight, preparing BOMs/drawings, product development, and vendor communication. The candidate will play a key role in streamlining manufacturing processes, ensuring high-quality standards, and enhancing overall efficiency.

Key Responsibilities
Quality Control & Assembly Oversight:
- Oversee assembly operations to ensure adherence to design specifications, quality standards, and production timelines.
- Maintain Bill of Materials and drawing specifications to the latest revisions.
- Conduct quality control checks, root cause analyses, and corrective actions to minimize defects and maintain product integrity.
- Collaborate with production teams to troubleshoot and resolve assembly and manufacturing issues.
- Develop and implement inspection protocols to ensure consistent product quality.
Vendor Communication & Inventory Management:
- Oversee inventory control processes, ensuring accurate tracking and efficient material flow to support production needs.
- Work closely with suppliers and vendors to ensure timely delivery of high-quality materials and components.
- Assist in evaluating vendor performance and sourcing new suppliers as needed to optimize cost and quality.
Process Improvement & Documentation:
- Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and technical documentation for production processes.
- Implement process improvement methodologies such as Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement activities.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
- Experience in process improvement, quality control, and production oversight within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a hands-on approach to troubleshooting.
- Ability to develop technical documentation and standardize manufacturing procedures.
- Experience working with suppliers and vendors to manage material quality and delivery schedules.
- Ability to read and interpret 2D technical drawings and schematics.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while managing multiple tasks.
- Hands-on skills with the ability to work with tools, equipment, and assembly processes.
- Fishing experience or knowledge of fishing tackle products (preferred but not required).
