What are the responsibilities and job description for the Koch Logistics Intern position at Koch Companies?
Koch Logistics is excited to be offering Operations Internships this summer!
What will you be doing?
As a Koch Logistics Intern you will be putting principles you learn in the classroom into practice by learning actual tasks we do daily. You will rotate between different teams throughout the summer and have a mentor available so you can get a deeper understanding of the ‘why’ behind each task. Teams and tasks include:
Team: Tracking/Doc Retrieval
- Retrieve documents, identify document types, scan/image documents
- Track shipment statuses via carrier websites, and update TMS
Team: LTL (Less Than Truckload)
- Work with customers, vendors, and carriers to schedule shipments and problem solve
- Learn about NMFC classifications and how to properly complete Bills of Lading
Team: TL (Truckload)
- Contact carriers via phone and email, track and update shipment statuses
- Learn the basics of working with carriers to negotiate and secure a truck
Team: KMI (Koch Maritime - International)
- Track shipping vessels and containers
- Learn about international documents and terminology
What skills and knowledge do you need to have?
- Currently enrolled in a college program, pursuing a Bachelor’s in Supply Chain, Business, Sales and Marketing, or other applicable degree
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Intermediate computer skills required
- Collaborate with teams effectively
