Koch Finishing Systems is actively recruiting for a CAD Drafter / Designer to join our Evansville, Indiana based Engineering team. As a member of our Engineering team, you will develop designs using 3D modeling and 2D drawing applications. You will interface with our Project Managers, Project Engineers, and Shop Fabricators to support our design and manufacturing processes.
We seek a candidate to :
Design and draft new components utilizing Inventor and AutoCAD. Typical components include sheet metal housings, ductwork, piping systems, structural steel systems, and liquid tanks.
Create 3D models from 2D drawings.
Create detailed drawings meeting industry and KOCH standards.
Create and execute change requests of existing drawings.
Perform drawing corrections and revisions.
Experience and Skills
Required experience :
Experience with Inventor or a similar 3D design application
Experience using AutoCAD 2D or a similar application.
Basic knowledge of mechanical design such as materials, manufacturing processes, and finishes.
Good interpersonal and communication skills; ability to meet deadlines and achieve goals with minimal supervision.
Demonstrate critical thinking, analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to take ownership and responsibility for the quality of his / her own work.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Requires teamwork and the strong ability to work with others to accomplish a common goal.
Possess a strong work ethic. Willing to work overtime as required to complete projects.
Candidate must be organized, efficient, and detail oriented.
Capable of taking direction and constructive criticism.
Flexible and willing to serve the changing needs of customers and the company, while acting as a collaborator.
Preferred experience :
Knowledge of engineering drawing practices such as ASME standards
Proficient with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Experience working in manufacturing with exposure to welding and metal fabrication processes or in a similar firsthand fabrication environment.
Familiarity with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems, for document, material, BOM, and revisions
Experience in Structural Steel detailing, Architectural or Civil design a plus but not required.
Education and Other Requirements
Associate of Science degree in design, engineering, or related technical discipline or equivalent work experience.
5 years of relevant experience showing increasing levels of complexity and responsibility
