OVERVIEW :
KODA Resources is looking for a skilled and innovative Geophysicist to lead the identification, evaluation, and recommendation of exploration and development opportunities. The ideal candidate will leverage their expertise in seismic interpretation, data integration, and prospect generation to drive value and success in exploration efforts.
Job Duties / Responsibilities :
Analyze 2D and 3D seismic data to identify structural and stratigraphic features, develop subsurface models, and generate drillable prospects.
Integrate seismic, well, petrophysical, and geological data to provide comprehensive interpretations that support exploration and development goals.
Identify and assess new exploration opportunities, estimate resource potential, and present recommendations to management.
Perform advanced geophysical analyses, including AVO, inversion, and attribute studies, to de-risk prospects and enhance subsurface understanding.
Work closely with geologists, reservoir engineers, and land teams to develop exploration and development strategies.
Manage geophysical projects, including vendor relations, data acquisition, and quality control.
Stay current with advancements in geophysical software and technologies, and implement new tools to improve exploration workflows.
Knowledge and skills :
Proficiency in geophysical interpretation software (e.g., Petrel, Kingdom, or similar).
Strong understanding of seismic acquisition and processing techniques.
Ability to integrate seismic, well, petrophysical, and geological data for comprehensive subsurface evaluations.
Experience with advanced geophysical analyses, including AVO, inversion, and attribute studies.
In-depth knowledge of Rocky Mountain Cretaceous geology and basins, with a focus on the Uinta and Williston basins.
Experience with stacked fluvial accumulations and their exploration potential.
Knowledge of unconventional resource plays and exploration workflows.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Effective communication and presentation skills.
Strong ability to collaborate within multidisciplinary teams.

Work under stressful conditions associated with critical project deadlines and heavy workloads
Will need to be a self-starter and able to work in an independent environment
Education and / or Experience :
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Geophysics, Geology, or a related field.
10 years of experience in geophysics within the oil and gas industry.
Proven track record of prospect generation and evaluation in oil and gas basins.

Compensation Range / Rate :
180,000 – $249,400 annually
Actual compensation offered to successful candidate will be finalized with offer and may be above or below the posted range due to skill level, experience, industry specific knowledge, education / certifications or geographic location
Other compensation for this position will include bonus eligibility
