Position Overview:

We are seeking an organized and detail-oriented Financial Controller to join our dynamic global finance team. This role will be primarily responsible for certain UK legal entities (LE) by maintaining the integrity of the accounting records for those LEs, in accordance with local GAAP and IFRS as well as Group policies. The job holder supports the monthly accounting closing process, ensures compliance with statutory requirements and works with local management to ensure that business processes and controls are established and followed. In addition, this role is responsible for completion of the annual financial statements for these UK entities, ensuring all statutory obligations are met, as well as supporting the annual Group audit as necessary. The job holder works closely with the Finance team and Global Shared Service Centre (GSSC) to ensure accurate accounting.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for maintaining complete and accurate financial records for the trading of the LE(s) activity in accordance with local GAAP and IFRS.
  • Communicate closely with Regional Controller and country business leaders to ensure timely, accurate, and complete monthly reporting.
  • Ensure that relevant monthly balance sheet reconciliations are reviewed on a timely basis.
  • Responsible for the LE(s) control environment; assist in the development, implementation, and monitoring of internal controls.
  • Review of non-standard sales contracts and terms and conditions to ensure that revenue recognition criteria and correctly accounted for.
  • Timely preparation of technical papers for complex or unusual transactions.
  • Support the adoption of new or revised accounting standards.
  • Ensure that statutory financial statements and all other statutory filings are completed timely and in accordance local regulations.
  • Primary interface for external audits for relevant LE(s).
  • Address matters raised by the statutory bodies in a timely and professional manner.
  • Identify areas for improvement in financial processes and systems to drive greater efficiency and effectiveness; lead projects for changes as required.
  • Work closely with business leaders on initiatives and advise on implications from a local GAAP and IFRS point of view.
  • Provide financial support in respect of major decisions affecting the organization (e.g. strategic initiatives including pension and worker’s compensation issues, etc.).
  • Assist with customer financing in line with approved corporate models and ensuring that rebates (conditional and unconditional), coop, promotion and inventory protection are properly accounted for where appropriate.



Qualifications:

  • BA/BS degree in Accounting or Finance, CPA designation or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 5 years professional experience with a mix of public accounting and corporate experience, preferably in a global or multi-location environment.
  • Strong technical accounting background, including knowledge of IFRS & local accounting standards together with strong commercial acumen; detailed knowledge of UK and other statutory reporting requirements highly preferred.
  • Experience with consolidation and multi-currency financial reporting.
  • Experience with ERP and associated ledger systems – Microsoft D365 a plus
  • Advanced Excel skills, with the ability to create complex financial models and reports.
  • Experience interfacing with external auditors.
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills as well as the ability to form very strong relationships with all levels of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across diverse teams and present information in a clear, professional and open manner.
  • Must be goal and achievement-oriented and be accepting of change and a champion of it within the work environment; flexible and able to think “outside of the box”.
  • English language mandatory, other language skills desirable.



Working Environment:

  • This position is based in Rochester, New York, under a hybrid working arrangement based on business needs.
  • No travel required.

Salary: $100,000 - $120,000 annually.


This range is a good faith estimate of the expected salary range for this position, based on a wide range of factors including qualifications, experience and training, operational and business needs and other considerations permitted by law.
