We are looking for a Press Team Lead to oversee and coordinate the different stages of the print production process. This hourly position requires strong leadership skills to manage a team of press operators and technicians while ensuring all printed materials are accurately printed and prepared for distribution whether it be to another department or elsewhere. The role operates Monday through Friday on a rotating shift (with Management approved flexibility).

Key Responsibilities

• Team Leadership

• Supervise, train, and mentor pressroom staff to ensure efficient workflow and teamwork throughout the bindery process
• Provide ongoing feedback to team members

• Production Management

• Oversee daily pressroom operations, including the setting up and printing of the materials
• Collaborate with production managers and other department leads to prioritize and schedule jobs for timely completion

• Quality Control

• Ensure all finished products meet quality standards by conducting regular checks throughout the printing process
• Quickly address and resolve any quality issues to prevent delays

• Equipment Oversight

• Manage the setup, maintenance, and troubleshooting of pressroom equipment to ensure smooth production with minimal downtime

• Process Optimization

• Develop and implement best practices to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of pressroom operations, reducing waste and optimizing turnaround times

• Schedule and Time Management

• Manage staff schedules, timesheets, and PTO requests using company software to ensure adequate coverage and workflow efficiency
• Maintain accurate records and assist with payroll approval

• Health & Safety Compliance

• Enforce safety standards and ensure the pressroom area complies with health and safety regulations, promoting a safe working environment

• Inventory Management

• Monitor stock levels of pressroom supplies and materials, placing orders as necessary to prevent shortages

• Problem-Solving

• Address and resolve production challenges or equipment issues, ensuring minimal disruption to workflow

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Experience in a pressroom or within the printing industry
• Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and guide a diverse team
• Deep knowledge of pressroom equipment and the ability to troubleshoot machinery effectively
• Strong attention to detail with a commitment to delivering high-quality finished products
• Ability to manage multiple jobs simultaneously and work under tight deadlines.
• Excellent communication and coordination skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams
• Proficiency in managing schedules and using computer software for timesheets and PTO management
• Knowledge of safety protocols and procedures within a production environment
