Responsibilities
- Conduct visual inspections of welds to ensure compliance with specified welding procedures and codes.
- Perform thorough examinations of welds using various inspection techniques.
- Identify and document weld defects, discontinuities, and imperfections in accordance with established criteria and standards.
- Ensure adherence to industry codes, welding procedures, and relevant standards during inspections. Stay up to date with the latest welding techniques, technologies, and industry best practices.
- Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification from a recognized certification body.
- In-depth knowledge of welding processes, techniques, and standards.
- Prepare comprehensive inspection reports, detailing inspection results, findings, and recommendations for corrective actions.
- Maintain accurate records of inspection activities, including weld documentation, UT reports, and relevant certifications.
- Proper documentation of inspection results and compliance with project requirements.
- Communicate effectively with welding personnel, QA / QC, project managers, and engineering teams to address welding-related issues and concerns.
- Collaborate to resolve non-conformities and implement corrective actions.
- Demonstrated experience in welding inspection in mechanical industries.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to identify and interpret welding defects accurately.
- Communication Skills : Excellent verbal and written communication skills to prepare detailed reports and effectively communicate inspection findings.
- A strong commitment to safety and the ability to promote a safe working environment.
- Capable of collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to achieve project goals.
