Job Title: AWS Certified Weld Inspector (CWI)

Pay: $37.00-$44.00 hr
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled AWS Certified Weld Inspector (CWI) to join our team at a cutting-edge data center construction project in Queen Creek, AZ. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring all welding activities comply with industry codes, project specifications, and safety regulations. This role requires a strong understanding of welding techniques, materials, and quality control procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform inspections on structural and piping welds to ensure compliance with AWS D1.1, ASME, and other applicable codes.
- Verify welder qualifications and ensure proper procedures are followed.
- Conduct visual and non-destructive testing (NDT) to assess weld integrity.
- Maintain accurate inspection reports and documentation.
- Collaborate with contractors, engineers, and quality control teams to address welding-related issues.
- Ensure all welding activities align with safety and quality standards.
- Support project managers with technical insights and inspection updates.
- Assist in resolving non-conformance reports (NCRs) and implementing corrective actions.
Qualifications:
- AWS Certified Weld Inspector (CWI) Certification (Required).
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in welding inspection, preferably in data centers, industrial, or large-scale construction projects.
- Strong knowledge of AWS, ASME, and other relevant welding codes.
- Experience with visual inspection, NDT methods (UT, MT, PT, RT) is a plus.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, welding symbols, and specifications.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.
- Familiarity with safety and quality programs in construction environments.
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S. and able to pass background checks as required by the project.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Additional NDT certifications (UT, MT, PT) preferred.
- Experience working in mission-critical facilities or data centers.
- OSHA 30-hour safety certification is a plus.
