Job Summary: The Assistant Director of Engineering and Facilities will be responsible for the overall maintenance operations of the property including effectively leading the maintenance department, managing projects and repairs, and managing departmental budget.

Job Responsibilities and Standards:
The following description of job responsibilities and standards are intended to reflect the essential functions of the position. This outline does not detail every aspect of the position and there may be other responsibilities and duties as assigned.
Job Specifics
- Oversee Facilities Department, Supervise and direct the Facilities Supervisor and Facilities staff on daily Work Orders and projects.
- Coordinate assignment of Work Order duties with the Office Manager.
- Provide updates on staff performance and Work Order status after every shift.
- Ensure that all technicians complete their daily Work Orders and provide updates on incomplete work orders.
- Report all incidents which occur during scheduled shifts (to include positive and negative behavior).
- Utilize ALICE for all work orders.
- Contact sub-contractors and/or order parts for repairs as needed.
- Consult with Director of Engineering/Facilities for support and advice (when needed) to ensure proper repair and replacement procedures are followed.
- Advise Director of Engineering/Facilities of all tools and equipment needed by the Facilities Team to perform assigned duties correctly and safely.
- Ensure all equipment is kept clean and well maintained, always.
Qualifications
- Must have 5 years’ facilities/engineering experience. Preferably in a hospitality setting.
- Must have 5 years’ experience leading a team.
- Must have experience with managing P&L/Departmental budget and be able to forecast for department needs.
- Previous experience including but not limited to plumbing, carpentry, electrical, HVAC, pool, refrigeration, kitchen equipment, and water treatment.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Excellent verbal communication skills and must be very customer service oriented.
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced work environment while meeting deadlines as directed.
- Must be able to lift 30-60 pounds
- Able to work under pressure
- Able to work weekends and holidays
- Must be able to stand, walk, climb ladders for extended periods of time
- Must able to multi task, have excellent inter-personal skills
- Must be able to speak and read English fluently.
Customer Service Responsibility
- Ensures that the club's customer service standards are maintained at an exceptional level.
- Presents self in a professional manner including appearance, identification, and general communication and conduct at all times.
- Makes a positive contribution to the work environment through presentation of positive attitude, demonstration of cooperation and teamwork, and constructive approach to daily events.
- Listens effectively, responds to guests’ requests in a friendly “can do” manner.
Safety
- Demonstrates adherence to the club's safe practice procedures and makes recommendations to improve safety. Reports any unsafe work practice to Director or Engineering/Facilities.
- Consistently utilizes proper body mechanics in performance of responsibilities, as evidenced by supervisor’s observation and no injury to self or others due to improper work habits.
- Follows proper reporting procedures when injured at work. Is aware of the location of material safety data sheets and refers to them when necessary.
