JOB SUMMARY
The Staff Accountant will assist in the daily financial tasks of Kohanaiki, focusing on tasks like data entry, posting journal entries, reconciling general ledgers, and supporting management with more complex tasks. This role will work closely with internal departments across multiple entities to ensure compliance with company policy and communicate discrepancies to the management team. This position requires you to exercise integrity and confidentiality.
JOB DUTIES
- Journal Entries: Prepare and Post Journal Entries, such as posting expenses and revenues to multi-company general ledgers. These data entry tasks require careful attention to detail.
- Reconciliations: Perform bank reconciliations and other reconciliations to ensure accuracy as well as strive to identify and resolve discrepancies.
- Compliance: Support efforts to comply with financial regulations and general accounting standards. Should have a solid understanding of basic accounting principles (GAAP).
- Supporting Management: Aid with various tasks, including support audit activities, month-end financial statement preparation, and other projects as assigned.
- Reporting: Prepare and Maintain reports on financial data, amortization schedules, and prepaid.
- Document Fixed Assets: Assist with Recording, Updating, and Maintaining documentation of Fixed Assets. Posting Depreciation of assets to reflect their reduced value over time or dispose of assets when they are no longer in use.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate financials records and schedules.
- Ability to work independently: Will need to complete tasks with minimal supervision.
BACKGROUND/EXPERIENCE
- A degree in accounting or a related field, or its equivalent with three plus (3 ) years of experience in the field or in a related area is required.
- Strong analytical skills including proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, which are not limited to Excel, Word, and Outlook are required. Knowledge of Smartsheet and Microsoft Power BI are also preferred.
- Familiarity with financial software.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Organized and capable of multi-tasking.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines in a timely manner.
- Construction Job-Cost Accounting knowledge preferred.
Salary : $65,000 - $80,000
