Middle School General Studies Learning Center Teacher
Kohelet Yeshiva Middle School, an educationally progressive, K-8 Modern Orthodox Day School located in Merion Station, Pennsylvania, seeks a dynamic and talented educator for the position of General Studies Learning Center Teacher for the 2025-2026 school year. The Learning Center Teacher position is envisioned as a full-time position, encompassing support and intervention for all general studies subjects and executive functioning for a middle school learning environment.
Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be able to:

Support student development in executive functioning skills to promote success in a rigorous academic environment with a dual curriculum in General and Judaic Studies.

Utilize research-based best practices in subject instruction to create learning that closes the skill gap and supports learning of new material.

Be the point person for faculty and parents for specific students.

Assist classroom teachers in implementing recommendations in students’ learning plans.

Assess students in a variety of ways, including informal and formal assessments, and use that data to assist student growth, self-reflection, and instruction.

Determine students’ academic and social-emotional learning goals, ensure they’re met, and communicate them to colleagues, parents, and students on a regular basis.

Be active in the school community (attend events at Kohelet Yeshiva Middle School, including professional development, and open house events, among others).
Qualifications
The successful candidate will:

Have a BA and/or MA in Special Education or a related field of study.

Experience working directly with students on reading, writing, or math support.

Outstanding organizational skills and the ability to differentiate support for students with a variety of strengths and skill levels.

Have prior experience with teaching middle school students with learning differences, ADHD, ASD, and students who have challenges with executive functioning.

Have the ability to set concrete goals for students.

Be comfortable with educational technology, including computers and learning management systems including Google Classroom and Google Suite tools.

Demonstrate a willingness to work with students outside of their academic content area.

Demonstrate a reflective mindset, intellectual curiosity, and leadership potential.

Be excited and able to collaborate with colleagues and support team.
Compensation will be competitive and commensurate with experience.
