As a Supervisor, Distribution Center, you will support retail operations by managing the day-to-day execution of merchandise processing through the Fulfillment Network.
What You’ll Do
- Manage the workflow of several departments in conjunction with individual department supervisors
- Develop and maintain accuracy standards to ensure unit inventory integrity
- Align with business partners to resolve issues and ensure efficient service
- Ensure dynamic staffing to meet company goals
- Effectively manage staff to meet productivity and cost goals
- Monitor safety and accident incident reports to reduce lost time and ensure performance best practices
- Evaluate and track level of service and accuracy standards
- Lead direct reports to achieve unit goals
- Increase associate engagement by developing and communicating a clear vision
- Maintain open communication, set clear objectives and remove barriers
- Develop an effective staff through coaching and performance feedback
- Follow all company, state, local and OSHA safety rules, policies and regulations to promote a safe work environment; promptly report any potential violations to the appropriate supervisor/manager
- Comply with all company policies, procedures, standards and guidelines, including those related to accuracy and productivity
- Maintain regular and acceptable attendance as set by the company and comply with dress code requirements
- Maintain a flexible work schedule and adhere to the requirement of working any designated shift and overtime as requested per business and operational needs.
What Skills You Have
- Prior experience managing teams in a distribution warehouse environment
- Working knowledge of automated distribution and warehouse systems
- Bachelor’s or advanced degree
- Strong interpersonal communication skills
- Working knowledge of Warehouse Management Systems
- Flexibility in hours to support multi-shift operations
- Effective collaboration and teamwork skills
- Adept multi-tasking abilities
- Ability to satisfactorily complete company training programs and cross-train in at least 2 departments
- 1-2 years of experience with Operations and Operational Support Systems (WMS, WCS, LMS)
- 1-2 years automated MHE and SQL experience
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work well under pressure and as a team for the achievement of customer satisfaction
- Ability to work under general supervision and use knowledge and experience to provide quality support to the user community
