Opportunity
Do you enjoy teaching swimming lessons and assisting members of all ages with their aquatic needs? Are you skilled at ensuring members safety and following pool rules while using the facilities? If so, then join the team at the Sports Core as our Aquatics Lead where your hard work and customer service skills will be appreciated and recognized! The Aquatics Lead will teach swim classes, while managing the daily operations of the aquatics department.
Specific responsibilities include:

Serve as the department lead with weekly designated administrative time combined with service time

Expectation to teach and be an active Aquatics Instructor while also leading respective department

Supervise department staff – this includes performance feedback, goal setting, training and retraining, department staff meetings, and associate communication

Help manage schedules/appointments of associates

Conduct interviews, onboard new associates, conduct 90-day and annual performance reviews, and effectively performance manage associates

Assist in managing the department budget by providing data, reports, and documentation

Set sales goals for respective department and associates to help drive revenue

When providing services, operate at or above expectations

Ensure all associates are meeting or exceeding the standards and expectations of their assigned roles
- Serve on the Operations Team and participate in management training sessions and outside educational opportunities
This is a Part-Time benefited opportunity. Shifts will vary between 8:00am and 10:00pm, weekdays & weekends.
Skills/Requirements

Minimum of a high school diploma along with nationally accredited certification in each respective area is required

Prior leadership experience
-
Lifeguard and Water Safety Instructor certification required

CPR/AED Certification required within 3 months of hire

Minimum of 4 years of industry experience required

Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs on a regular basis

Self-motivated with strong written/verbal skills

Prior supervisory experience preferred

Strong organizational skills and computer skills required
-
Demonstrated ability to lead, train and develop others
- Availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays strongly preferred

The hourly range for this position is $18.75. The specific hourly rate offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate’s experience, their education, and the work location. Available benefits include medical, dental, vision & 401k.
