KOI is a modern Japanese Fusion restaurant and Sushi / Martini bar known for its innovative menu and high end dining experience. We are seeking a  highly skilled, creative, and hands-on Kitchen Manager  to take full ownership of our kitchen operations. This role is ideal for a passionate leader who thrives in a fast-paced detailed oriented enviornment and understands the balance between creativity and consistency.

Responsibilities

Culinary Leadership & Creativity

  • Develop and maintain the highest standards of food quality, presentation, and consistency.
  • Collaborate on menu and specials development, while maintaining brand identity and guest expectations.
  • Stay aligned with culinary trends and bring innovative ideas to enhance menu options.

Kitchen Operations & Inventory Management

  • Oversee all aspects of kitchen operations, including ordering, inventory management, and cost control.
  • Ensure proper food handling, storage, and rotation to maintain freshness and minimize waste.
  • Manage vendor relationships, optimizing costs while maintaining quality.
  • Team Leadership & Staff Managment

  • Lead a skilled kitchen team, fostering a culture of excellence, teamwork, and efficiency.
  • Ensure accountability in all kitchen roles.
  • Monitor and manage scheduling, labor costs, and staffing levels to maintain efficiency.
  • Quality Control & Problem Soliving

  • Maintain consistency in flavors, plating and portioning across all dishes
  • Idenitify and resolve kitchen challenges from staffing issues to operational inefficiencies.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and sanitation regulations.
  • Requirements

  • Experinece in leadership roles in high end or fast paced restaurants.
  • Experience in menu planning and ordering based on anticipating covers
  • Strong culinary skills with the passion for creating and experimenting with Japanese cuisine and fusion concepts.
  • Exceptional organizational and problem solving abilities.
  • Reliability
  • Strong Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards.
  • Ability to work nights and weekends, and holidays as needed.
