Koinonia is seeking a dedicated and qualified Youth Counselor for an overnight position in its Koinonia Connections Emergency Placement Program in Rocklin, CA. This program provides short-term care for youth ages 6 to 17 who have experienced trauma and exhibit challenging behaviors. Youth remain in the program until a more stable, long-term placement can be secured.The Youth Counselor opportunity includes : A great chance to support kids who have experienced traumaAn awake night shift position for those who prefer to work overnightHourly pay rate : $20.00 to $23.00 per hour, depending upon overall qualificationsMedical, dental, vision, chiropractic and behavioral health planPaid time off (PTO)Participation in our 401k planHoliday pay premium (time-and-one-half for working certain holidays)The following overnight shifts are available : Friday-Sunday, Night shift : 9 : 00 PM - 10 : 00 AM Note : We are also open to the part-time schedule listed below if it is a better match for your needs : Saturday-Sunday, Night shift : 9 : 30 PM - 9 : 30 AMResponsibilities include : Supervise youth during overnight hoursHelp with preparing program needs for the following dayProviding direct care and supervision of youth in a residential setting Implementing individualized treatment plans that address their unique needsWorking collaboratively with other staff members to ensure the safety and well-being of youthMaintaining records for youthAttending requirement meetings and trainingsLight housekeeping and / or cookingThe ideal candidate will be a compassionate individual with good boundaries who has a passion for helping at-risk youth. They will also have good interpersonal and communication skills; good de-escalation skills (training is provided); be reliable and dependable; work productively under minimal supervision; have a high degree of integrity and confidentiality; and a schedule that is flexible to meet work requirements. In order to ensure proper supervision of youth, there is no opportunity for sleeping. This position requires a valid driver's license, auto insurance, and reliable transportation as driving is an essential job function. The Youth Counselor must be able to safely and reliably transport youth to medical appointments, therapy sessions, educational activities, and other essential services that support their overall well-being. In addition, the Youth Counselor must be prepared to respond to crisis situations by providing immediate transportation to ensure the safety and security of the youth, often in locations not easily accessible by alternative transportation methods. The nature of these responsibilities necessitates the ability to drive to ensure timely, reliable, confidential and effective support for the youth and families we serve.
