What are the responsibilities and job description for the Safety/Security Officer position at Kokomo-Howard County Public Library?
The Kokomo-Howard County Public Library is proud of our safe and secure Main Branch and our other facilities and is seeking a Safety & Security Officer to help us keep our distinguished reputation. We have a 20-hour part-time position available as well as a substitute position with variable hours to begin and hours will include evenings and weekends. The rate starts at $16.42/hour. Requirements are a high school diploma or equivalent, 1-year relevant experience, a valid driver's license, and the ability to patrol our facilities regularly. The primary responsibilities are day-to-day conflict resolution; along with patrolling and monitoring hallways, stairwells, toilet facilities, outside areas surrounding facilities, and other public and nonpublic areas of the library. Also, enforcing library policies and filing incident reports while maintaining an inviting environment for our patrons, working with local law enforcement as needed, and assisting staff with directing patrons in emergencies.
