Janitor

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Janitor to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and sanitation in offices, classrooms, bathrooms, sanctuaries and gym. This role is essential to ensuring a safe and welcoming atmosphere for employees and visitors alike.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, dusting, and vacuuming to maintain cleanliness in assigned areas.
• Conduct custodial duties including restroom sanitation, trash removal, and replenishing supplies as needed.
• Clean all glass windows throughout the building
• Execute floor care tasks including buffing, waxing, and polishing to ensure floors are well-maintained and presentable.
• Assist with facilities maintenance by reporting any repairs or maintenance needs to the appropriate personnel.
• Maintain cleanliness in outdoor areas as needed, ensuring walkways and entrances are free of debris.
• Set up and break down tables and chairs as needed
• Assure all doors are locked, windows closed, heat/AC lowered at night & alarm set
• Work collaboratively with other team members to ensure all cleaning tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.
• To NOT divulge any information about the company, its representatives, agents or Boards that is confidential, privileged or non-public
• To follow and comply with the policies and procedures as written by the company

Requirements:

• Previous experience in commercial or industrial cleaning is preferred but not mandatory.
• Knowledge of custodial practices and procedures is a plus.
• Ability to operate cleaning equipment safely and effectively.
• Strong attention to detail with a commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness.
• Physical stamina to perform cleaning tasks that may require lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
• Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
• A positive attitude and willingness to work as part of a team or independently when necessary.
• High School Diploma
• A valid NYS Driver License

Physical Requirements:

This position requires the employee to ambulate well, to walk, stand, lift, bend, reach, push, pull and climb to adequately perform the essential functions of this position daily. The employee will be required to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $15.50 - $16.50 per hour

Expected hours: 25 – 30 per week

• Monday to Friday
• Morning shift
