We are currently in search of an experienced Accountant for our corporate office in Burtonsville, MD.  As an Accountant you will be responsible for managing financial transactions, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring compliance with accounting principles and regulations. Your expertise will play a  role in supporting financial decision-making and contributing to the overall financial health of the organization.  You will be an integral part of our finance team, responsible for assisting in various accounting functions and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records. Your role will involve processing financial transactions, preparing reports, and contributing to the overall financial health of the organization.

Responsibilities

• Monday - Friday; 9:00 am - 5:00 pm - hybrid position 
• Manage all accounting transactions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries.
• Prepare and examine financial records to identify potential areas of opportunity and risk, providing solutions for both businesses and individuals.
• Perform month-end, quarterly, and annual closings, ensuring completion within 5-7 business days.
• Prepare journal entries related to the company’s accounting system and subsidiary ledgers to support timely financial reporting.
• Reconcile bank statements and accounts on a timely basis, processing cash activity daily or weekly.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records while ensuring compliance with accounting standards and internal policies.
• Publish financial statements and reports in a timely manner to support business decision-making.
• Develop budgets, track variances, and provide financial projections to assist with strategic planning.
• Compute taxes, prepare tax returns, and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal tax regulations.
• Provide support for tax consultants, maintain tax records, and investigate tax-related issues.
• Audit financial documents and procedures, ensuring accuracy and adherence to compliance standards.
• Assist in internal and external audits by providing documentation, explanations, and support.
• Monitor and analyze expenses, support cost-saving initiatives, and ensure adherence to company expense policies.
• Support and maintain effective financial controls to safeguard company assets.
• Utilize financial software and accounting systems proficiently to streamline processes and maintain accurate financial data.
• Ensure timely bank payments and manage balance sheets and profit/loss statements.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s in accounting or finance required
• Master's, preferred
• CPA certification, preferred
• 2-3 years’ experience in Public Accounting Firm or Corporate Finance / Accounting Department
• Excel proficiency is a must 
• Experience with general ledger functions
• Strong addition to detail and ability to work autonomously 
• Strong organizational and problem solving skills
• Solid writer and oral communication skills
• Experience with Sage Intacct
• Previous experience working for a healthcare related entity is a plus

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $75,000 to $85,000. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
